Spring always heralds the arrival of my buying trip to Asia in preparation for Autumn/Winter additions to our Ready to Wear Collection.  This year not only did I visit my usual suppliers in Bangkok, I also combined some client meetings in Hong Kong with an expedition to some fantastic new factories. With two new exciting projects this year, it is essential to build strong relationships and establish confident communications.

Arriving in the frenzied metropolis which is Hong Kong is a mixture of excitement & exhilaration. Hong Kong creates visions of a chaotic, people packed city with tall skyscrapers & thick smog. It is an extremely fast paced and a very efficiently run City where you can enjoy such extremes as a bowl of noodles on the street to a lab made liquid nitrogen ice cream.  A diverse city offering a wealth of contrast from the super contemporary to the truly ancient.

I have been travelling to Hong Kong intermittently for over 20 years and even had a short spell living there as a child due to my fathers work. As soon as I arrive I always grab a coffee from either Holly Browns on Stanley St; Central or a new place I have recently discovered in Mid Levels called Oolaa: my current favourite.

Busy days called for quick but nourishing lunches: I love the Dim Sum with a simple but satisfying bowl of noodles at Jade Garden. After a hectic schedule my ideal unwind habit has to be an ice cold Tsingtao with friends at any of the stylish rooftop bars where the views of the metropolois are unbelievable.

Now home and working hard ready to launch our new stock and most excitingly our first guest designer collaboration.  Keep upto date with our posts for more exclusive news.

Get your rocks on,

Neil x
